Ko Tao is also known as the turtle island as its shape resembles one. Ko Tao´s little sister island, Ko Nangyuan, is a private island that consists of three smaller islands connected together by a beautiful sandbank. Together, these islands form three bays with crystal-clear water and no strong current, white sandy beaches, a variety of colorful fishes and fascinating coral reefs that offer optimal conditions for snorkeling.
We offer the tour on the speedboat
If you are looking for an adventure and would not mind potentially bumpy ride on the way, we would like to recommend joining the speedboat for the snorkeling tour to Koh Tao and Koh Nangyuan.
Exclusive to the trip aboard the speedboat, you will visit Koh Nungyuan in the morning, in an attempt to avoid large group of visitors that regularly visit the island in the afternoon. You will have about 2 hours to explore Nangyuan above and below the water. Climbing to the hills for spectacular views, snorkel the world famous snorkeling locations, all within a 5 minute walk, such as the "Japanese Gardens", "Twins" and the "Koh Nangyuan Pinnacle". The snorkeling sites are clearly marked and closed off for all boats, so you can completely engulf yourself in the snorkeling experience without a worry in the world. After lunch we will visit Koh Tao’s snorkeling site at Mango Bay.
Mango Bay is one of the less known and well preserve snorkeling spots that Ko Tao can offer. From the moment you will get into the water you can explore amazing snorkeling spots full of friendly, colorful fishes and soft and hard corals.
Mask and snorkel will be provided for you, as well as a life jacket so you can float around looking at the beautiful fishes and corals care-free.
After about an hour of beautiful snorkeling we will visit the Mae Haad Walking Street, a traditional Thai market with an intimate, charming atmosphere, located on Koh Tao (optional based on your selection of tour). We will depart Koh Tao heading south back to Samui around 15:00 and on the way will see Koh Tao and Phangan islands passing by.
Warning: we do not recommend the Koh Tao and Koh Nangyuan snorkeling tour, for senior, young children, pregnant women, guests with sensitive back, or guests who get sea sick easily as when the weather does not cooperate the speed boat ride can be very difficult. This tour is best for people that look for an adventure and do not mind an uneasy boat ride. As a wonderful alternative, we recommend you select our Half Day Island Hopping & Snorkeling tour to Koh Taen aboard the Dragon Classic Thai Yachts.
Included in this tour are transfers to and from your hotel, coffee/tea in the morning, bottled mineral water onboard, buffet lunch, the use of snorkeling equipment, a life jacket, full insurance coverage, and an English-speaking guide.
