Ang Thong National Marine Park closing period

Ang Thong National Marine Park is schedule to close yearly between 1st of Nov to December 23rd.

However, in reality the exact Marine Park closing and re-opening dates are depended on weather condition.

When the east monsoons arrive to Samui we get strong winds, heavy rain and the park closes “for real”. From experience the monsoon does not affect us until the mid November and last for 2-3 weeks. This is what happens normally but it can change from year to year.
Normally, 2 –3 weeks after the real closing date, if the weather condition are good, the park re-opens. During the real closing period there are many days with clear blue sky and no wind.

We continue to run modify marine park tour when the park is really closed all the time that weather conditions are good. The modify trip does not visit Talay Nai where the Emerald Lake is located. Instead we visit other islands.
